What is a kid’s consignment ​event? It is a pop-up retail store ​that occurs 2x-3x per year and ​runs for 1 week. The event ​provides hundreds of families the ​opportunity to consign their kids’ ​new to softly-used items.

You’ll find amazing deals that ​allow you to replenish & restock ​your kids’ closets with designer ​items at 50- 90% below retail. ​Twinkle Toes is sure to offer you ​one of the best shopping ​experiences to find preemies - ​young junior sizes!

Twinkle Toes’ Children's Event ​provides an outlet for local ​families, caregivers, and others to ​earn dollars for their excellent ​quality, softly used kids’ items. ​Consignors retain 60% of their total ​sales with Twinkle Toes retaining ​40% to offset the costs incurred to ​make this event a reality.

Our consignors have the option of ​volunteering in various positions

at our event, which allows ​consignors to keep up to 65% of ​their sales. Consigning is easy! ​Scheduling your volunteer shift is ​easy! Dropping off your inventory ​is easy! Shopping is easy fun! So, ​hop on over to our Consignor ​Registration page to get started!

• Set up your consignor login account to start your consignment process ​and obtain your consignor number
• You earn 60% of your sales
  
• You must have a minimum of 15 items to consign and a maximum of 250 ​items
  
• You can earn up to 65% of your sales if you decide to assist us onsite ​during our sale event

• Gather all your kids’ items that you will be consigning
  
• Use our online tagging & inventory software to begin creating your tags, ​pricing and describing your items; If you choose to have your items ​discounted on the last sale day, please select the discount option; your ​tag will print a “D” to indicate your preference
• If you choose to have your unsold items donated at the end of the sale, ​please select this option in our tagging system
  
• Please give special attention to possible misspellings on your tag ​descriptions
• Please carefully inspect, clean and if necessary, wash and give your ​clothing items a light iron (presentation is everything)
  
• Sort and hang clothing by gender and size
• Your consigned clothing should be free of tears, loose hems or hanging ​threads, stains, pilling (fuzz balls), missing buttons or snaps, broken ​zippers, fading, pet hairs, smoke odors
  
• For toys & games, please be sure they are in excellent working condition; ​have working batteries installed &/o have their power cord attached;
• Ensure your toys are free of dust, food or drink stains &/O spills ​(presentation is everything and makes your items more saleable)
  
• Do not consign any toys that are missing their parts, broken or show ​heavy signs of wear and tear
• Magic Erasers or Norwex cloths can be used to help clean and tidy up ​toys, shoes and other equipment
  
• Your deadline to use the tagging system ends on October XX, 2024 at ​11:59pm

• Use our online system to schedule your drop-off time for Monday, October 7, ​2024
  
• If possible, please include your owner’s manuals and manufacturer’s ​provided safety info for toys, equipment or furniture
  
• Please try to keep your scheduled drop-off and be prepared to spend no less ​than 30 minutes - 1 hour while your items are being inspected
  
• Have a laundry basket or bin with you to take back items that have not ​passed our inspection

• For larger/bulky/heavy items, please have someone with you to assist you in ​bringing those items into the sale and onto the sale floor

• Pickup is on Sunday, 11-17-24 at XXpm - XXpm
  
• Any items not picked up by XXpm will be donated to one of our charitable ​organizations
• If you have chosen to donate your items, you do not need to be present for ​end-of-sale pickup as your items are set for automatic donation
  
• Check your sales report using our online system to determine the number ​of unsold items; If you are not donating these items, and if necessary, ​please bring a small/medium/large laundry basket or tote with you to ​pickup your unsold items

• Hangers (wire or plastic); ​kids pants/skirt are all ​acceptable
  

• Safety pins size 1-1/2 inch ​to 2-inches for ​pinning/securing your tags ​to your clothing
  

• Tagging gun can also be ​used in lieu of safety pins ​as it makes tagging your ​items much easier, but is ​completely optional
  

• White cardstock #65 - 70 ​lbs or higher if your ​printer can handle heavier ​weights
  

• Computer, Laptop, Inkjet ​or Laser printer for ​printing your tags
  

• Painter’s tape ​(recommended for taping ​tags to your books)
  

• Ziploc bags (size will be ​determined by the amount of ​items you’re trying to keep ​together as a set or small pieces ​that are a part of a larger item
• Downy Wrinkle Fabric ​Releaser
• Febreeze Fabric Refresher
• Batteries (all battery-​operated toys and other ​items - must be working)
• Microfiber cloths &/o Magic ​erasers to help clean shoes ​and other items

SAFETY PINS: Please use safety ​pins that are a minimum of 1-​1/2" or larger; Please do not use ​tiny gold safety pins or straight ​pins for any reason; 2' safety ​pins are ideal for hanging pants; ​Safety pins can be used in lieu of ​a tagging gun to secure tags to ​your items

HANGERS: We accept both ​plastic and wire hangers. Please ​ensure you are using the ​appropriate size hangers for ​your clothing sizes

TAGGING GUN: If using, insert ​the barb through the clothing’s ​label or an inside seam. DO NOT ​punch the barb directly through ​the clothing to avoid making a ​hole in the clothing. We WILL ​NOT accept clothing with holes ​made from tagging!

We want you to have a “happy” ​consigning with us and suggest ​pricing your items at 1/3 - 1/4 of ​their original retail price. Smart ​pricing helps more of your items ​sell!

For high-end designer wear & ​accessories or brand-new items, ​you may price at 50% off their ​original retail price.

We recommend a minimum ​starting price of $5 for all items. ​If you have items that will not ​individually sell at the minimum ​price, try bundling items. eg. ​onesies of the same size can be ​hung together as a set, several ​coloring books or other books ​can be bundled together & ​priced accordingly

HINT: You can increase your sale ​potential if you choose to ​DISCOUNT your items when ​tagging. Tags marked for ​discount indicate your items will ​sell at half-price on the last day ​only of the sale.

NEVER cover your barcodes

• Place your clothing on the hanger so ​the hook faces left and looks like a ​question mark (?). If you’re hanging a ​skirt or pair of slacks, please use ​safety pins to secure your bottoms to ​the hanger as shown in the image to ​the left.

• Lastly, secure your sale tag with your ​safety pin or your tagging gun. Pin or ​tag on a seam, label or for items like ​jeans, you can tag or pin on the ​waistband. Your tag must always be ​visible.
  

Consign your BEST and leave the REST!

• Twinkle Toes is not a thrift store. We will exercise due diligence in ​accepting your consigned items. Be sure to examine your clothing ​and other items in natural light. Sometimes, stains and other issues ​will not show inside your home. We ask that you do a thorough ​inspection of all your items before making the decision to consign as ​we will not accept any stained items.
  
• Please ensure your paired clothing sets are of the same size
  
• Use child size hangers for baby to kids’ sizes 0 - 6x. Sizes over 6x ​can use regular size hangers, but be sure that your clothing will not ​fall away from their hangers.

We accept ALL designer wear brands, boutique brands, trunk show ​pieces, well-known department brands such as Kohl’s, Belk, Macy’s, ​Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom’s. Monogrammed “single letter only” ​clothing will be accepted. Shoppers will enjoy knowing that they are ​shopping the very best you have to offer at discounted savings.

Please note: Walmart, Target, Temu & Shein clothing and other items ​will NOT be accepted.

• We ask that you thoroughly inspect your items in natural light for ​any signs of excessive wear and tear or damage before making the ​decision to consign with Twinkle Toes
  
• Twinkle Toes will inspect all items before they are placed on our sales ​floor
• Please be prepared to wait at least 1 hour during drop off depending ​on how many items you are consigning
  
• During drop off, we may have to return some items to you that may ​not meet our sales requirement. We ask that you not be offended as ​we have a duty to you, our consignors, and our shoppers to maintain ​the integrity of our sale
• Remember, the best presented items = higher sale potential
  

Twinkle Toes will not accept the ​following items:

• No maternity wear
  
• No clothing styles over 5 years old
• No adult clothing or shoes
  
• No clothing with tears, rips, stains, pillage (fuzz balls), missing buttons ​or snaps, broken zippers, fading, loose or hanging hems, “loose” elastic,
• No clothing with smoky odors, unpleasant odors, moth ball, or pet hairs
• No discount department store clothing
• Kids socks, underwear, hair accessories and tights will ONLY be ​accepted if they are new, unopened and still in original manufacturer‘s ​packaging; We must be as sanitary as possible
  
• No shoes with signs of peeling, wear and tear, missing buckles, velcro ​that is no longer adhesive, discolored or missing straps; no odors and ​no signs of footprints on the inner soles
• No clothing sets priced below $5
  

• No cribs manufactured prior to June 28, 2011 or drop-side cribs
  
• No cribs manufactured after June 28, 2011 that do not comply with CPSC ​guidelines - visit www.cpsc.gov for more information
• No custom made furniture
• No outdated decor, room decor or any other type of decor that is not baby ​or kid-related; no used crib sheets
• No party decorations of any kind, balloons, pinatas, etc.
  
• No car seats involved in car accidents or car seats more than 4 years old; ​Please check the manufacturer’s expiration label on the bottom side; The ​expiration date should be no earlier than 2026; You must be the original ​owner of the car seat; Click here for car seat recalls before consigning
• No recalled sleepers; Please visit the CPSC for recalled items
  
• No floor seat booster chairs aka Bumbo Seats without their safety straps
• No MamaRoo Baby Swings v1.0 - 4.0 or RockaRoo Baby Rockers unless the ​strap fastener has been repaired by the manufacturer visit CPSC for more ​information on these recalls
  
• No V-Shaped Accordion Style Baby Gates
• No inclined sleepers and no crib bumpers; See Safe Sleep for Babies Act of ​2019
  

• No toys without working batteries given toy is in gently used condition ​and has all its parts for proper operation
  
• No damaged, broken or busted toys or toys that have missing pieces or ​loose parts
• Do not bundle random toys & pieces to package for consignment; If you ​have several toys missing their parts or pieces, please do not consign
  
• No books with markings on their covers or on their pages, torn or ​ripped pages; No coloring books with partially colored pages - coloring ​books should be unused and in good condition
• No hand painted toys
  
• No stuffed animals unless they are action-oriented toys or of a popular ​brand name
• No toys from Happy Meal food boxes
  
• No out-of-date or recalled toys
• No iPads, laptops, computers, cellphones (unless it’s a kid’s toy), no ​computer speakers, DVD players or TV sets

• No open packages of disposable diapers or wipes (only factory sealed ​packages will be accepted)
  
• No used breast pumps, diaper bags, potty seats, baby bottles w/nipples, ​teething rings (for sanitary purposes these items must be new and sealed ​in the manufacturer’s packaging)
• No used reusable nursing pads (only new and unopened in original ​manufacturer’s packaging)
  
• No used pacifiers (must be new and in factory sealed packaging)
• No baby foods, shampoos, medications of any kind, diaper ointments, ​baby formulas, lotions or any other toiletries
  
• No infant bath tubs will be accepted
• NO used kids-themed bathroom sets or shower curtains - only new ​unopened sets will be accepted
  
• NO USED diaper bags, breast pumps, potty seats, diaper pails, bottles ​w/nipples (bottles w/out nipples accepted), worn chewable/teething ​infant toys. Think sanitary!
  
• No discount department store or crocheted baby blankets only higher-end ​brands
  

• Remove as much dust and dirt as you can from your item prior to ​using a Magic Eraser
• Use to clean white-colored sneakers, white areas or white shoes
• Use to tidy up scuff marks on toys
  
• Remove excess cleaning residue from your items once cleaning is ​completed
• Let your items air dry
• Avoid cleaning shoes that have a high gloss finish as the eraser ​may scratch the material

• Pack N Plays with their original ​liner & mattress and must be ​sold as a set

• Used underwear, training pants, ​and cloth diapers
• Sneakers or shoes with frayed laces

• No toys that require use of the ​mouth for operation (eg. whistles, ​mouth guards, etc) unless new & ​unopened in original packaging

Volunteer Roles

• Setup/Breakdown: We can use some “muscles” to help unload racks, ​tables, and do miscellaneous heavy lifting in setting up at sale ​opening &/o breaking down at end of sale. Let the men in your life ​earn you a spot to shop first at the private sale when he volunteers ​as your replacement! This is a good way for you to retain your 65% ​commission.
  

• Drop-off: Checking in consignors’ items, inspecting items before ​they make it onto the sales floor (no items with stains, offensive ​odors, tears, hanging hems, pillage, missing buttons/snaps, broken ​zippers, etc.), directing consignors to hang/place items in ​appropriate areas on sales floor
  

• During Sale: Keep sales floor & displays organized and tidy, ensure ​clothes are hung on racks in correct sizes, re-hang fallen clothing ​& return other merchandise to their specific areas, keep an eye out ​for items that made it through inspection in error & pull from ​sales floor; assist shoppers with questions
  

• End-of-Sale: Sort unsold clothes/items to be picked up by ​consignor by consignor number; verify consignor has received all ​unsold items before consignor exits the sale;
  

• End-of-Sale cleanup: Trash receptacles are emptied & placed in ​designated onsite bins; sales space is in broom swept condition;

Savvy Shopper Tips

• We accept cash, debit, major credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay ​and Samsung Pay . Sorry, but CHECKS are not acceptable
  
• Wear comfortable clothes, shoes or sneakers
  
• Shop early to obtain first dibs on a wide selection of new to ​gently-used items with prices 50 – 90% below retail
  
• We must protect our consignors’ items. No oversize handbags or ​purses, backpacks and diaper bags. Bring an empty kiddie wagon ​or clothes basket. Feel free to turn your baskets into a “makeshift ​pullman” by attaching a sturdy band/strap or belt. We will have ​oversized, reusable plastic shopping bags for a nominal cost of ​$2.You will enjoy the convenience of being hands free while ​shopping!
  
• Make a list of your child/children’s clothing sizes and a handy ​shopping list of specific items that interest you before shopping. ​To obtain a more accurate shoe size for your kids, place your ​child’s feet with full weight on cardstock or other sturdy/heavy ​paper on the floor; trace around your child’s feet with a pencil to ​get an accurate width and length, cut out the footprint and bring ​with you to ensure a proper fit for your child. If your child wears ​socks on a regular basis, you can trace your child’s feet while the ​socks are being worn.
  
• You may need to purchase a large item that is too bulky to carry ​around while shopping. These items will have special tickets ​attached to them called “Claim Tickets.” If you are certain on ​your decision to purchase this/these large item(s), please fill out ​the top portion of the “Claim Ticket(s)” with your information ​and remove the bottom portion. Once your shopping is ​completed, please proceed to the checkout with your merchandise ​and bottom half of your “Claim Ticket(s). PLEASE DO NOT PULL ​THE “CLAIM TICKETS” IF YOU ARE UNCERTAIN on purchasing ​these items.
  
• For unisex clothing, bear in mind you may want to shop a size up ​from your child’s current sizing.
  
• We do our very best at inspection, but a few items may have ​passed our eyes. Please carefully check over each item before ​purchasing as ALL SALES ARE FINAL and we cannot reduce our ​consignors’ prices.
  
• Please remember ONLY ONE person per Pre-sale Pass allowed ​during our Consignor and Volunteer Presales.
  
• Due to an expected large crowd at our Presale event and our ​concern with safety, children under 12 will NOT be allowed at our ​Presale event
  
• We are always open to accepting volunteers. If you would like to ​volunteer at our sale event, we would love to hear from you. Just ​send an email to us at: twinkletoesresale@gmail.com. Our sales ​are possible because of volunteers like you! If you consign and ​volunteer with us, you can receive 65% of your sales
  

What types of items do you accept?

• Typcally, clothing, accessories, furniture, and childrens’ ​home decor. the items should be in good condition, clean and ​free of damage. please visit our What To Consign page for ​more information.
  

What percentage of the sale price do I receive, and when do i ​get paid?

• you’ll receive a commission of 60% on your sales with the ​option to earn 65% of your sales when you volunteer with us. ​checks will be paid out within two weeks after the close of ​the sale.
  

what payment methods are accepted at your sales?

• we accept visa, mastercard, discover, american exress, ​samsung pay, apple pay, google pay and cash. no checks are ​accepted.
  

How do I determine what items require barcodes?

• Create barcoded tags for all your items. Enter the size and ​price in whole dollars (e.g., $5.00, $3.00 - no cents). Hanging ​sets should be priced at $5.00 and above. Other individual ​clothing items can be priced from $3.00 and up. Provide a ​detailed description of each item, specifying whether it is for ​a boy, girl or unisex, brand, size & color.
  

• Before completing and printing your tag, use the ALLOW ​DISCOUNT option to indicate if your item will be discounted to ​half price on the last day of the sale (Saturday). Select "YES" ​for a discount or "NO" for no discount.
  

Can I have my items remain at full price during the ½ price ​sale?

• Before completing and printing your tag, if you do not want ​your items to be discounted, select "NO" under the ALLOW ​DISCOUNT option. Your tag will then print with the words "NO ​DISC" to indicate no discount on the half-price day. As a ​result, your items will remain at their original sale price ​during the half-price sale.
  

DOES YOUR SALE USE barcode stickers?

• NO. Consignors can Print their barcodes using white ​cardstock RANGING BETWEEN 60 - 67lbs.

What if I don’t have a printer at home?

• no problem!! You can head to your local print services ​(Staples, Ups, office depot, fedex, etc.)to have your barcodes ​printed. most allow you to email your file to the printer of ​your choice or you can save your file on a flash drive and ​use their in house self-printing option.
  

how many of the same items can i sell?

• we allow no more than 5 of the exact same items per sale.

What do the letters located on the barcode mean?

• These letters help our crew members with resorting items at ​the end of the sale.
  

What if I want to change the price or the discount status on ​my tag?

• A new tag must be created! Do not cross out the preprinted ​prices or the words “No Disc” because the barcode is ​programmed to reflect either a discounted or full price. ALL ​ITEMS ARE SOLD AT THE BARCODE PRICE!!
  

What if the labels do not line up when I print the barcodes?

• When you click print, a DIALOG box will appear. make sure ​"page scaling" is set to " None". This should correct the ​problem.
  

IMPORTANT Note: Items will be sold at what is priced on the ​barcode. (If you decide to chanGe the pricing or any other ​information on your sale tag, then a new tag MUST be made with ​the new information). HANDWRITTEN TAGS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE!

what happens if my items do not sell?

• you’ll have the option to either donate or pick up YOUR ​unsold items AT END OF sale. The donate option SHOULD be ​seleceted during tagging. if you have selected the donate ​option, you do not need to return at the end of the sale. If ​you did not select the donate option, you will pickup your ​unsold items at the designated pickup time.
